Im not gonna go too far out on a limb here and say these are from the infamous Cherry Hill Skate Park in South Jersey. I can also somewhat safely assume that they where taken by Tom’s Father. Well its all there in these picks lip tricks, big frontside airs, standing tall on the coping. I wonder what the other kids at the park where doing.

Tom will be forever tied to this place. His name has became synonymous with the place.

As for Cherry Hill if you don’t know the story well I’m not gonna make it up for us. We must refer to those that lived it:

Head over to its an amazing website with tons of galleries, stories, and interviews. Drop by the forums and tell em The House of Steam sent you!!

161: The House of Steam Year One 2007

The House of Steam Logo Art By Steve Mannion

Hello All

Well by July 20th 2007 The House of Steam will be One Year Old!!

The archive currently has over 170 entries spread across 400 searchable categories.

In order to celebrate our accomplishment I have assembled a Year One Celebration video.

I would like to thank Sophie for all her help and support with the archive.

I would like to thank all the people I have been in contact with (especially via email) who have contributed photos, stories and most importanty time.

To me The House of Steam is an open ended community driven archive. What it does and where it goes is up to you so keep contributing. It is only a matter of time before The House of Steam becomes an important peice of skate history. It is not if it is when. I recall something sprayed on the outside wall of The Barn after it was all closed up, it said…The Time is Now.

so true.

Well I thought I would wrap it all up with a classic… This picture is Iconic…and if you ever wondered who shot it well now you know!

Nice one Tom’s Dad!!!

I got to skate (more like survive) Tom’s ramp one afternoon 4 or 5 years after this was taken. It was me Dan Tag and Tom….. I should have stopped to take a few pics that day.

Thanks Chuck..have fun touring!

Hey Jason

That shot of Chuck and Tom on Tom’s ramp is classic. The airs always got bigger when Mr G. brought out the cameras. That’s JT Murphy sitting on the rail on the left. The guy in the middle is familiar, but I can’t place the name. I’m the skinny kid on the right. I was such a dork back then. Hard to believe it was 24 years ago
